I’m still alive… just not in the US!

I’m still alive… just not in the US!

It has been a long time since I did a blogpost…. sorry about that.
School is very demanding on my time, especially since I am in high school now.
And I was getting ready to travel to where I am now… which is South Africa!!
I will post another post about South Africa another day…. just wanted to let you know where I was and why I haven’t been blogging.
Also, I am 15 now! I turned 15 on October 11, just a couple of days ago!!
Its amazing to think that in another 15 years, I will be 30…” God, please don’t let me waste those years (or ANY years) of my life. Let me live my life for you!

Ok, signing off now…. talk to you people later!

England and Scotland

England and Scotland

Ok, here’s the long awaited post about my trip.
Well, I had a lovely time in England and Scotland! To tell you about each place, I’m going to break it up into two sections…and put highlights under each section .And then photos will come later in a different post!

England~
- I went to a wonderful museum called the Victoria and Albert museum, more commonly referred to as the V and A! It had paintings, statues, and even a fashion gallery!
- I went to the Sherlock Holmes Museum! I love mystery and so does my mom, so that museum was a favorite!
- I saw Wicked! And I loved it! The music was AMAZING! The actors did a superb job too!
- I had fish and chips… thats a must for me if I’m in England!
- I had a strawberry tart and I loved it!
- I did drink a lot of tea, but actually more in Scotland!
- For those of you who love My Fair Lady… I went to Covent Gardens! Beautiful market place there!

Scotland~
- I biked
- I relaxed and my mom and I started on a series that we love now! Its called Lark Rise to Candleford, its about a girl who moves from a small hamlet to a town… and thats all I’m telling you about it!
- I had the best strawberries!
-I watched Wimbeldon tennis!
- I watched the World Cup ( I actually did that in England too!)
- I went to a group of islands called the Orkney Islands! They were absolutely beautiful! I loved them!
- I played guitar and sang
- I played piano
- I drank a lot of tea, and I really mean a lot!!

Alright, now I’m putting together a post with some pictures!
Also check out my new about page! http://talithapiper.wordpress.com/about-me/

There’s no place like home…

There’s no place like home…

and I’m not wearing my red ruby slippers, and I am not tapping them three times right now, but I am home!
Well, I actually got home last night! It was fun to be in the Dominican Republic! I swam (in a pool, unfortunately, the day the others were going to the beach was the day I got sick.), ate good food, had good talks with my parents and friends, exercised at the hotel, and listened to my dad speak! And oh, I left out the driving. That was interesting. Overall, I had a fantastic time in the DR!
Pictures will come later. Sorry, I feel a little lazy right now.
Oh btw, we would typically eat around 8:30 or 9:30 or 10, one night it was even later!

Those do look fun to wear! by the way, I got this from google images. And on the website it is on, this was the caption. “Ruby slippers worn by Dorothy in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz.” , Photo courtesy of the Smithsonian Institution.

DR, Traveling, and some questions

DR, Traveling, and some questions

Wednesday morning I am leaving to go to the Dominican Republic! I am so excited! My parents are there now.
And when I travel, I will travel with DG people, and I think, this will be the first time I am traveling on a plane without my parents. Its definitely gonna feel weird, but it will also be interesting. At least I’m not traveling ALL alone!
But, I always travel with my parents, so this will be exciting! It is nice that I don’t have to sleep on the plane, (unless I’m tired and I want a nap!)because this is not a night flight. And I get to sit by a friend!

Ok, I have a couple of questions!
Do you like unpacking or packing better?
Do you like traveling by plane or car better?

Hi Y’all, what’s going on?

Hi Y’all, what’s going on?

“How’s life?” Y’all ask.

“Life is good. Let me update y’all!” I answer.
So now I will begin a list about my life right now.
1. Yesterday I got to go to The Christmas Carol at the Guthrie Theater, in Minneapolis, MN!
It was a play, not the movie that just came out that is a cartoon. Just wanted to set the records straight.
2. I am now in Georgia. I will be going to Passion, and then to visit my grandmother and cousins and aunts and uncles in Barnesville, Georgia.
3. I stayed up till 1:00 am last night…
4. I went to Ebenezer Baptist Church last night for their New Years Eve service. That was the church that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s father was the pastor of.
5. Today we are going to the “World of Coca-Cola”!
6. It is so awesome to not have to wear a full winter coat!
7. Today I slept to 11:00am.
8. I also exercised for a 45 minute session and as a result my legs and arms ache!
9. Somebody thought I was in high school or college today!
10. I miss y’all! Thats right, I’m in the south…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
wow, we have been through a hard decade and the Lord has brought us through! Praise the Lord!
